Geoff is a Principal and leads the government relations team at Mercer’s Law & Policy Advisory Group, a Washington, DC-based national resource for Mercer clients and consultants on legislative, regulatory and legal developments affecting health care, retirement, tax, executive rewards and employment issues.
Geoff represents Mercer and its clients in Congress and before the executive branch and independent agencies. He works to help policymakers craft sound benefits policy while keeping clients and consultants informed and ahead of new developments. He has nearly 30 years of experience working on public policy issues, with an emphasis on health care and retirement security.
Before joining Mercer in 2001, Geoff held senior positions at employee benefits and financial services trade groups and developed strategic government and public relations strategies for clients at a leading political consulting firm. He also served as Editor for several benefits-related publications at a major legal publisher.
Geoff is frequently quoted in the press and speaks regularly at national and industry conferences. He currently serves on the American Benefits Council’s Policy Board of Directors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from The George Washington University.
