ERIC Testifying in Education and Labor Hearing on Behavioral and Mental Health

This is a special alert notifying you that James Gelfand will be a witness for the House Education and Labor’s Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions hearing entitled “Meeting the Moment: Improving Access to Behavioral and Mental Health Care” on Thursday, April 15 at 10:15 a.m. (ET).

His remarks will be focused on what employers have done before and during the pandemic to help employees access care for mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorders. He will also be proposing policies for Congress to consider, and pushing back on some dangerous penalty regimes and mandates that have been suggested.

Thank you to all the ERIC members that were a part of our Mental Health Task Force and for those that provided me information on what your companies are doing in this space. ERIC is the only witness representing employers during the hearing, and we appreciate the subcommittee staff for giving us this opportunity.
